Carter has run regattas both as a volunteer and professional for over 40 years. He started his race committee work by helping his father with the widely successful Monhegan Island Race back in the late 1980s when there were over 100 boats. He has had success as Principal Race Officer, Scorer, Signal Flags, Time Keeper, Webmaster, Promoter, Sponsorship Salesman and more.
Carter formed Regatta Promotions in 2007 to handle every aspect of operating a regatta. He soon had to tackle a down economy and the company weathered through the times. All the events he helped run during that period either kept the same participation or grew in participation which countered almost all the events worldwide over that timeframe that were losing boats and sailors every year.
Regatta Promotions eventually became You Regatta, which now helps yacht clubs, marinas, sailing associations and companies source the very best products for all their merchandise and daily needs.
You Regatta sells code flags, event apparel, skipper bags, prizes and awards, and pretty much anything that you would need to run a successful regatta.

While not officially providing soup to nuts regatta services Carter does provide Principal Race Officer services for a fee.
